Boy Awaits Bone-Marrow Donation This Month

His family needs help. Another boy raises money to help pediatric cancer patients, a friend wants to help tornado victims and a mom is trying to send her boys on a football trip. Will you help?

Transplant Expected Soon

David is scheduled to undergo a bone-marrow transplant next week, says his mom Sandra Calixto, who set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help cover his medical bills. "He was diagnosed with this disease in August 2013, and after not showing improvement with immunosuppressive therapy (ATG chemo + cyclosporine), he will have to undergo a bone marrow transplant. By the grace of God, a young man, whom we don't yet know, will be donating his bone marrow to David in December 2013."

Here are four more GoFundMe campaigns currently seeking donations in Oswego, Montgomery and Yorkville.

  • Camp Out From Cancer was started by 8-year-old Isaac Parris. Isaac was only 5 when he was diagnosed with brain cancer. Now, he creates care packages for other pediatric cancer patients.
  • Chris James, of Yorkville, a friend and former co-worker of a mom who lives in tornado-ravaged Washington, IL, wants to help the family. "They lost everything in the storm but each other." In Yorkville
  • A mom is raising money to send her sons to a youth football tournament. In Oswego
  • Raising money to help a man fight idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. In Oswego
