Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held by Oswegoland, Seniors, Inc. (501C3, not-for-profit, charitable corporation operating the Oswego Senior Center).

A.        Description of Project:   Scheduled, limited capacity bus service will be made available for senior citizens and disabled persons who are or become active users of our activities, facilities, and programs in conjunction with their general needs for transportation services.  We are seeking one (1) granted, light duty, paratransit bus with capacity for 12 passengers and a wheel chair lift.  The budgeted value of the bus is $57,000.  Operating budget costs (fuel, maintenance, training, insurance) are estimated at $25,000 per year.  Drivers, scheduler/dispatcher, and routine maintenance services will be accomplished by volunteers.

 

This project will be included in a Consolidated Vehicle Procurement Program undertaken by the State of Illinois on behalf of Oswegoland Seniors, Inc., with State and Federal Funds.

 

B.        Relocation:     Relocation assistance will not be required.

 

C.        Environment:  This project is being implemented to minimize environmental impact.

 

D.        Comprehensive Planning:      This project is in conformance with comprehensive transportation planning in the area.

 

E.         Elderly and Disabled:            All new equipment included in this project will meet ADA accessibility rules for elderly persons and the disabled.

 

II.                    At the hearing Oswegoland Seniors, Inc will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the project.  Interested persons may submit orally or in writing, evidence and recommendations with respect to said project.

 

III.                   A copy of the application for a state grant for the proposed project for the intended service area will be made available for public inspection at The Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington Street, Oswego, IL  60543.
