Moms Talk: In or Out for Winter Fun?

What do you say, moms? Are you looking forward to hibernating through the winter, or do you bring your kids outside for snowtime fun?

Each week in Moms Talk, our Moms Council of experts and smart mothers take your questions, give advice and share solutions.

Moms, dads, grandparents and the diverse families who make up our community will have a new resource for questions about local neighborhood schools, the best pediatricians, 24-hour pharmacies and the thousands of other issues that arise while raising children.

Here's this week's question:

Snow is on the way. (Really, it is.) What's your preference: will you hibernate the winter away with indoor fun, or bring the kids outside to play in the snow? What are some of the pros and cons of each? And is a mixture of both the best option?

Join our Moms Council (Amy Perry, Steph Motenko, Liz Spillane and Tiffany Prysmiki) in the comments below.

Moms Talk questions each week come from the Moms Council. If you're interested in joining, let editor Andre Salles know at andre.salles@patch.com.

Get out there and play. It's the healthiest option.

Yes, I think outside is the best! I like to hibernate but I like the kids to play outside!!! Looking forward to taking the kids sledding.

It's so funny you posted this today! I was just thinking about when I was in school years ago and freezing on playground because everyone had to go outside for recess, regardless of the weather. Somehow, we lived through it. I like to get my kids out in the winter months. The fresh air is good for them, plus running in snow is a good form of exercise!
