Oswego Fire Department Collecting Toys for "Toys for Tots"

Donations can be made through the end of the day Thursday, Dec. 19.

The Oswego Fire Protection District is hosting their seventh annual toy drive to benefit "Toys for Tots" in partnership with the Oswegoland Optimist 'Club's Needy Family Christmas Project'.

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off to any of the Fire Department's four stations from now through the end of the day Thursday, Dec. 19.

A bunch of toys will be arriving to the station on Thursday when members of the OFPD and students from Oswego 308's five junior high schools bring them to the station by firetruck.

The students and their families are invited to a breakfast cooked by fire department members and Capt. John Cornish, who is heading up the drive, said they are expecting to feed over 300 people that morning.

The goal for the department this year is to collect 3,000 toys for needy families in the Oswego area, said Cornish.

Members of the OFPD will also be donating money that the department will then use to purchase as many bicycles for kids as they can.

Toy donations can be dropped off at the following OFPD stations:

  • Fire Station 1: 3511 Wooley Road
  • Fire Station 2: 2200 Wiesbrook Drive
    Fire Station 3:
  • Fire Station 3: 2200 Galena Road, Montgomery
    Fire Station 4:
  • Fire Station 4: 27100 W. 127th Street, Plainfield
