Traughber Junior High Hosts Haunted Prairie Walk for Students

On October 25, Traughber is hosting their third annual Haunted House Walk.

You’re walking through the smokescreen in a prairie, when suddenly you hear the sounds of a chainsaw and a scream builds in your throat.

And then you notice it’s your science teacher under that horrid mask.

When the Traughber prairie took root, the school's science department decided to utilize the prairie with the students creating a haunted prairie walk.

“I came up with the idea of the Haunted Prairie to coordinate with the Halloween Dance," said science teacher Randy Paradise said. "We developed the character Callous Corporal Colchester as the main ghost who is patrolling  his land, where there just happens to be a school built on it containing over 1,000 students Colchester hates! He wants everyone off his land!”

The science department is implementing sound systems, lightings, and crazy costumes to adjust to the Sensory Overload theme.

“The cafe will pump music through the sound system so the students are entertained as they are staged before embarking on their Haunted Tour. Outside, we are enclosing the pavilion to act as Colchester's Tomb. Also, out by the pond, we will have blinding lights and loud music,” Randy Paradise said.

They are also aiming to make the theme more of a fall festival atmosphere bringing in Dick’s Doughnuts, smoothies, popcorn, candy, and more.

The event is from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and only Traughber students are permitted.
