Before you ask, yes, this week’s pet is named after the Muppet on Sesame Street, according to Kendall County Animal Control Warden Anna Payton. But Abby Cadabby has a certain magic all her own.
She’s a six-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix, and has been at the Kendall County shelter in Yorkville since the end of May, when her owner brought her in. Abby is sweet and laid-back, Payton said, and is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her shots.
She’s also a pretty big dog – she weighs about 67 pounds, and has lost seven since coming to the shelter and being placed on a diet. She could stand to lose a few more, Payton said, so if you’re looking for a weight loss buddy, Abby would be perfect.
