The Quilters' Dozen Quilt Club of Oswego has donated $600 to Oswego’s to help the museum with operating expenses.

The money was raised during the club's annual PrairieFest Quilt Raffle. Each year the  Quilter's Club, which meets weekly at the museum, creates an original quilt design and then sews the quilt by hand. The finished quilt is raffled during the PrairieFest celebration, with the profits split between the museum and the .

The museum plans to use the donation to purchase acid-free storage materials and other items required to safely store their collections of items ranging from vintage textiles, to photographs, to original documents.

“We recently spent well over $200 on acid-free textile storage boxes and acid-free tissue used to pack textiles,” museum director Roger Matile said. “The Quilters’ annual donation helps us a great deal, particularly with textile-related storage and preservation, which can be expensive.”

The museum is open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and Thursday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
