Eldon L. Gleason, 83, Served with the US Army During the Korean War

Eldon L. Gleason, age 83, of Oswego, IL, formerly of Kewanee, IL, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at The Tillers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oswego, IL.  He was born November 19, 1930 in Kewanee, IL, the son of the late Roy W. and Dorothy M. P. nee Heuer Gleason.

He served his country honorably with the US Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Oswego American Legion Post 675 and the American Train Dispatchers Association. 

Eldon is survived by his wife Bonita nee Lindstrom, children Thad (Kathryn) Gleason of Oswego, IL, Beth (Michael) Crackel of Oswego, IL, Dean Gleason of Oswego, IL, Scott (Sally) Gleason of Garden Grove, CA, Mark (Shelley) Gleason of Galena, OH, Amy (Paul) Tomlinson of Montgomery, IL, grandchildren Justin Gleason of Oswego, IL, Todd (Cassandra) Crackel of Yorkville, IL, Stephanie (Fiancé John) Crackel of Yorkville, IL, Bradley Crackel of Oswego, IL, Mitchell Gleason of Garden Grove, CA, Nicholas Gleason of Garden Grove, CA, and a sister Maxine Kallas of Kewanee, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Mikeall Kallas.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 3:00 until service time at 4:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL.  Burial will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at South Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee, IL.
