Emil Garcia, 79, was a Member of Valley Baptist Church

Emil Garcia 79 of Montgomery, IL died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Seasons Hospice and Pallatice Care in Naperville, IL. He was born September 3, 1934 in Moorehead, MN the son of the late Guadalupe and Marie (nee Andrews) Garcia.


Prior to his retirement in 1996 he was worked as a warehouseman for Clark Equipment Co in Bedford Park, IL for 25 years. He was a member of Valley Baptist Church in Oswego, IL.

Emil is survived by his wife Mercedes (nee Estrada) Garcia, (Whom he married on September 27, 1958 recently celebrating their 55th Anniversary.), a son Guadalupe (Mary) Garcia of Oak Forest, IL, two daughters Renee (Paul) Thornsberry of Oswego, IL, Michelle (Ken Petropulos) Garcia of Orland Park, IL, three grandchildren Kelly Rose Garcia, Daniel Garcia, Ezekiel Thornsberry, a sister Lynne Laplaca of Chicago, IL, two brothers Anthony Garcia of Fremont, MI, Rudolph Garcia of Palos, IL, also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Augustine Garcia.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor David Hemphill officiating. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL.
