Jennie R. Dicks, 90, Enjoyed her Weekly Bunco Group and Dancing

Visitation for Jennie R. Dicks will take place on Thursday, May 9 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Jennie R Dicks, 90 years of Montgomery, IL died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Lakewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Plainfield, IL. 

She was born April 7, 1923 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Phillip and Lenora nee Giacalone Vinci. She is survived by her husband Clayton (Whom she married on June 29, 1947 at Our Lady of Pompeii in Chicago, IL), her siblings Lydia (John) White of Romeoville, IL, Gloria (Larry) Wiercioch of Plainfield, IL, Charles (Linda) Dicks of Bolingbrook, IL, Richard (Shelly) Dicks of Crown Point, IN; eight grandchildren Katrina, Laura, Jennifer, Laura, Paul, Brian, Nicole and Joseph; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Vinci.

When a member at St Mary’s Church in Crown Point, IN she would lead the Rosary. She enjoyed the weekly Bunco group eight ladies and loved dancing at the Paradise in Chicago. In fact, she met her husband of 65 years there when he asked her to dance.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 Douglas Rd, Oswego, IL.

Funeral service will be from the funeral home on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 9:30 AM to St Anne Catholic Church 551 Boulder Hill Pass Oswego, IL for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian burial celebrated by Fr David Hankus. Burial will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.

Memorials may be directed to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
