Judith Ann Schierbaum Stark, 68, Loved to Dance, Draw and Play the Piano

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21.

Judith Ann Schierbaum Stark was born in Vienna, Illinois on July 14, 1945 to Della (McHugh) and John Schierbaum.   She passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Presence Mercy Medical Center.

In 1953, she and her family moved to Aurora, IL, where she graduated from West Aurora High School.  Judy met Ron when she was eight years old and were childhood next door neighbors.  They were married on January 22, 1966.  

Judy began work as a model for Kaufmann’s Dress Company and then moved on to employment at Aetna Insurance as an underwriter.  Judy then worked as an air traffic controller at the Aurora Airport Center for about a year and moved on to a 20+ year career at Provena Mercy Center, starting as a secretary for their adolescent unit and moving on to senior medical staff coordinator until her retirement in 2007.

Judy loved to draw, dance, play the piano, enjoyed gardening, and was a legendary bargain hunter. 

She is survived by her husband Ron; her sons, Ron (Karen Kulzer) Stark II, Adam Stark and Ryan (Sarah) Stark; her daughter, Amber Stark-Zilvitis; her sister, Alice Marquardt and her grandchildren, Nicole Stark, Alannah Franklin, Myah Zilvitis, Isaac Zilvitis and Catherine Stark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mildred Wicks and Phyllis Trammel and her brothers, James Schierbaum, Ralph Schierbaum and John David Schierbaum. 

Judy was a wonderful and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and was treasured by all who knew her. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 4-8 P.M. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60506.  Her funeral service will be held Friday, November 22, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at The Healy Chapel, Aurora.
