Obituary: In Loving Memory of Ann R. Modaff

Ann Modaff owned and operated Modaff Sundries for many years and worked at Matilda's Sewing Room in Oswego.

Ann R. Modaff, age 94 of Oswego, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Hillside Nursing Home in Yorkville.  She was born on December 22, 1917 in Aurora, Minnesota to Anton and Joanna Gregorich. 

In 1936 she married Donald Modaff of Aurora, Illinois.  Don and Ann owned and operated Modaff Sundries in Aurora for many years.  Ann also worked at Matilda’s Sewing Room in Oswego. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and working crossword puzzles. 

She is survived by her daughters Judy (Brad) Smith of Oswego, Mary (John) Goriup of Walnut Creek, California, and Marge Hergel of Binghamton, New York, grandchildren Donna (David) Friedlander of Honeoye Falls, New York, John (Mary) Goriup and Emmy (Peter) Woodke of Boise, Idaho, Nick Modaff of Duluth Minnesota, Mark Modaff and Michael Smith of Oswego, and her great grandchildren Olivia and Roger Friedlander of Honeoye Falls, New York and Shae, Callie, Ava and Brynleigh Modaff of Minnesota.

She was preceeded in death by her husband Donald, a son John Edward Modaff, a grandson David Smith, a son-in-law John Hergel and her 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

A private family service is planned.  There will be no visitation. Arrangements handled by the Dunn Family Funeral Home.
