Obituary: In Loving Memory of James M. Gaar

James Gaar loved to talk about U.S. history and facts about the presidents.

James M. Gaar, 49, of Oswego passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at his home.

He was born May 27, 1963 in Aurora, Illinois the son of Darrell and Barbara (Heitmeier) Gaar.

He was an avid football fan who liked watching his favorite teams the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed talking about U.S. history and referencing facts about the presidents. He also attended many Kane County Cougars baseball games over the years with his family. He loved to reminisce about the past and seemed to remember things that others would have long forgotten.

He is survived by his father, Darrell Gaar of Oswego, a sister and brother-in-law, LeeAnn and Mark Martens of Oswego, a nephew, Matthew Martens of Loganville, GA and a niece, Hailey Martens of Oswego. He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara and his grandparents.

A special thank you to his brother-in-law, Mark who was always helping in any way he could. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dunn Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Cremation followed by a private burial of the cremains will take place at Pearce Cemtery in Oswego, IL. lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation, 2890 Mitchell Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94598. For additional information 630/554-3888.
