OEHS Graduate Caitlin Shea Ostrom, 20, Passed After a Battle with Cancer

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 followed by a service.

Caitlin Shea Ostrom, 20 of Oswego IL passed away on Friday November 22, 2013 at Lurie’s Children Hospital of Chicago.

She was born in Twentynine Palms, CA, September 14, 1993 to Christine Christensen and Eric Ostrom.  Caitlin graduated from Oswego East High School in 2012 and after completing her first year of college at Mizzou, recently transferred to Aurora University to continue her studies to become an oncology nurse.  Her desire was to give children the kind of care she knew first hand they deserved and needed.

Caitlin was a kind hearted, giving and strong young woman who left a loving impression with everyone she met.  After a 20 year battle with neurofibromatosis she was recently diagnosed with cancer.  Every day after her diagnosis she was shown overwhelming support from her neighborhood and community, for which her family is eternally grateful.
