Robert E. Berkland, 88, Served in the US Army During World War II

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 13 until the funeral service at 11 a.m.

Robert E Berkland, 88 years, of Oswego, IL died suddenly on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born January 11, 1925 in CHicago, IL the son of the late Hogan Konraden and Mabel P nee Phillips Berkland.

He served his country honorably with the US Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He had worked as an automobile mechanic for many years prior to his retirement.

Survivors include his wife Margaret "Rose" nee Hoffman Berkland, five daughters Barbara (Gary) Holtman of Oswego, IL, Nancy Campbell of Florence, AZ, Beth Kontos of Fort Meyers, FL, Vicki (Craig) Bower of Plano, IL, Lori (Dale) Weisshaar of Oswego, IL; four sons Ed Berkland of Oswego, IL, William (Margie) Berkland of Plainfield, IL, David Berkland of Walnut, IL, James (Candy) Berkland of Oswego, IL; nineteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a brother Ron (Sharon) Berkland of EucClaire, WI also nieces and nephews.

He was also perceded in death by two sisters Wanda Beale, Beverly Holmes ande a grandson Todd Campbell.

A gathering of family/friends will be from 10:00 AM until the memorial service, conducted by Rev Roy Frye, at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL.
Burial of the cremains will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park.
