Prairiefest to start out with a blast!

The Illinois Society of Amateur Rocketry will be launching two special rockets on the opening day of Prairiefest (Thursday) at 6:30 pm. Kids and adults will enjoy the Barbie Chucker rocket that launches Barbie hundreds of feet into the sky and releases her from the rocket under parachute recovery. It’s quite a site to see Barbie floating above the Prairiefest grounds.

That will be followed by a high powered launch of the Allied First Bank rocket. You won’t miss this if you are anywhere in the area because it’s loud and climbs to over a thousand feet high. These two great launches are interesting to watch and are a great reason to attend the opening of Prairiefest.
