Walk Like a Panther!
The Panther Walk will help raise money for the Dave Marcinko Memorial Scholarship Fund.
On Friday, February 15th, 2013, the Second Annual Oswego High School Panther Walk will be held at the school's Fieldhouse from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend this fundraiser for the Dave Marcinko Memorial Scholarship Fund which will provide much needed scholarship money for some lucky OHS seniors.
Many within our community will remember that Dave Marcinko was the husband of Dr. Patti Marcinko, a counselor at OHS. He passed away several years ago of a sudden heart attack leaving behind his wife and two children. Well loved and respected for his commitment to our youth Dave coached soccer, t-ball and baseball for the Oswegoland Park District. One of his finest attributes was that he enjoyed helping others.
What a wonderful way to come together to celebrate Dave's life, help raise scholarship money and have fun at the same time. Not only is admission FREE, but all participants will receive FREE tickets to the varsity basketball game afterwards.

There will be raffles, an auction, food, games and all-around fun! It's not too late to pitch in and donate items for this event! Don't have anything to donate? That's okay.....just come out and have some fun and help the cause at the same time.
We all know that these events don't just happen. They take months of planning and preparation to be successful. The force behind the Panther Walk is the Interact Club who is a never-ending source of projects, events and volunteerism. These young people, under the leadership of Counselor Paula Hilderbrand, continually finds ways to be an active part of Oswego's community. I've seen them in action and they're a force to be reckoned with!
