If you know who cut the wires powering Windy City Amusements’ rides during PrairieFest in Oswego this year, there could be $10,000 in it for you if you tell the police.
Sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, and 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, someone cut copper cables leading from the rides to the generators in three places, according to Oswego police. Windy City employees discovered the damage Friday morning, and were delayed in opening the carnival.
The vandalism caused $30,000 in damage, police said.
The company has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case, police said. Anyone with info is asked to call Kendall County CrimeStoppers at 630-553-5999. Callers to CrimeStoppers remain anonymous, and are eligible for a cash reward on top of that offered by Windy City.
