Accused Former PTA Member Arrested on Theft Charge

Meredith Henry is accused of stealing more than $4,000 from the Boulder Hill Elementary School PTA.

A former Oswego School District PTA treasurer was taken into custody on allegations she stole more than $4,000 from the for-kids non-profit.

Meredith Henry, 36, was arrested at her Plainfield home on April 8, a day after Patch reported that she was wanted in connection with the alleged crime.

Plainfield Sgt. Mike Fisher said he sent patrol officers to Henry's home in the 15400 block of Pratt Lane after reading the story on Oswego Patch.

"Thanks to the Patch, I noticed she had a warrant out of Kendall County," Fisher said. "All we were doing was serving a warrant."

Kendall County Sheriff's police said a warrant was issued for Henry's arrest on March 13 following an investigation into missing PTA funds.

According to police, Henry was treasurer for the Boulder Hill Elementary School PTA when more than $4,000 went missing from the non-profit's bank account between July 1 and July 31, 2013. Deputy Bryan Harl said the theft was reported in September.

Plainfield arrest reports show that Henry was arrested at her home on a charge of theft over $500.
