"Adopt a Cop" to Benefit Special Olympics Illinois

The Oswego Police Department is fundraising to participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run that benefits Special Olympics Illinois.

The following release was issued by the Oswego Police Department:

On June 12, 2013 Oswego Police Officers and department employees will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois.

The Flame of Hope eventually will make its way to Bloomington/Normal, into the Redbird Stadium for the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics Illinois State Summer Games.

If an officer or department employee wishes to participate in this event, they must raise a minimum of $100. The Oswego Police Department is having the third annual “Adopt a Cop” fundraising event to support the Torch Run.

The “Adopt a Cop” fundraising event begins now and will end on June 11. The officers and department employees need your help for this event.

We are asking for a donation of $100 made out to the Special Olympics Illinois to sponsor an officer or department employee who will be running on June 12.

By sponsoring an officer or employee, you will have the honor of donating to Special Olympics Illinois and having your business or organization listed in the than  you letter to the editor posted on the Oswego Police Department webpage under the Special Olympics tab.
