Charges Filed in Boulder Hill Shooting

Shooting occurred in the 0-99 block of Circle Drive East in March 2011.

An Aurora man has been charged in Boulder Hill.

Rael Roy Gonzalez, 24, of the 2000 block of Nann Street, has been charged with three counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm in the March 2 incident in the 0 to 100 block of Circle Drive East in Boulder Hill, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s office.

Gonzalez drove by the home at about 1:30 p.m. that day, got out of his car and fired three shots from a handgun at people standing outside the home, the sheriff’s office said. Gonzalez then drove off, the sheriff’s office said. The bullets struck the home, a car and a neighbor’s tree. No one was injured in the incident.

A warrant was issued for Gonzalez’s arrest June 26, and he was later picked up by Aurora police.

Residents nearby the scene said the block is usually a quiet area with no known drug or gang activity.

Gonzalez is being held in the Kendall County Jail on $250,000 bond.
