Aurora Student Brought Loaded Gun to School: Police

A teacher searched the 13-year-old's locker after noticing students behaving suspiciously.

Aurora police said a 13-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after a loaded handgun was found in his locker at Washington Middle School, 231 Constitution Drive.

The gun was discovered after a teacher spotted students gathered around the boy's locker, according to the Beacon News. After telling the students to move along, the teacher and an administrator searched the locker and found the gun inside a book bag, the paper reported.

The eighth-grader reportedly brought the gun, which apparently belongs to a family member, to school to show his friends.

No one was hurt in the incident.
