A 19-year-old man was charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license following a single car crash on Beecher Road, Kendall County deputies said.

Nadar R. Kawash, of North Richlands, Texas, was involved in a single car accident early Jan. 1. He lost control of his car and crashed through two utility poles and ended up in a field, according to reports.

Images captured by Todd Sherman of Northern Illinois FireGround Photos show the front of the vehicle was crushed by the impact.

Kawash was transported via helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

In a video shot by Sherman, Bristol Kendall Firefighter Tim Fairfield said it took approximately 30 minutes to extricate the driver from the vehicle. The crash occurred several hours prior to someone reporting the accident, Fairfield said. The driver was alert and talking, but had injuries to his legs, Fairfield said.

Nadar was also charged with underage consumption of alcohol.
