Sunday, Sept. 1

Possession of cannabis, drug paraphernalia

Isaac A. Ruiz, 31, of the 100 block of Laurie Lane, Oswego, was arrested at 4:33 p.m. at Fernwood an Hunter, Montgomery, and charged with the possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia after he was stopped for speeding 40 mph in a 30 mph zone, said the Sheriff’s office.

Driving with revoked license

Oscar Gutierrez-Vazquez, 28, of the 800 block of West Lafayette Street, Ottawa, was arrested at 1:05 a.m. at Route 71 and Route 126, Yorkville, and charged for driving with a revoked license after he was stopped for driving with only one headlight, said the Sheriff’s office.

Criminal damage to property

Sheriff’s deputies took a report for criminal damage to property that occurred between Aug. 31 at 11:30 p.m. and 12 a.m. on Sept. 1 in the 9000 block of Route 34, Bristol. The victim reported someone had broken out the back window of her pick up truck.

Saturday, Aug. 31

Domestic battery

Craig Russel Elkin, 31, of the 0-99 block of Shore Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 12:40 a.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery, said the Sheriff’s office.

Friday, Aug. 30

Burglary

Sheriff’s deputies took a report for burglary that occurred to a storage unit in the 100 block of Route 30, Montgomery, between May 28 and August 30. Electronic items were reported stolen.

Domestic battery

Craig Russell Elkin, 30, of the 0-99 block of Shore Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 7:33 p.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery, said the Sheriff’s office.

Thursday, Aug. 29

Warrant

  • Erica Lynne Terek, 49, of the 600 block of Salem Circle, Oswego, was arrested at 5:29 a.m. at her residence on a warrant for two counts of domestic battery, said the Sheriff’s office.
  • Jonathan P. Kincade, 34, of the 900 block of Van Buran Street, Streator, was arrested at 6:41 p.m. in the 1100 block of Cornell Lane, Bristol, on two warrants - one for simple battery and another for domestic battery after he came to the Sheriff’s office to speak to an officer, said the Sheriff’s office.
  • Abel, Garza, 30, of the 100 block of Harbor Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 4:13 p.m. in the 2300 block of Route 34 on a warrant out of Kendall County for domestic battery, said the Sheriff’s office.

Harassing phone calls

Sheriff’s deputies took a report of harassing phone calls that occurred at 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of West Rickard Drive, Bristol. The victim received approximately 70 phone calls from an ex-boyfriend in a one -our time span. The victim is seeking no charges at this time.

Unlawful possession of cannabis, warrant

Steven Kenneth Greyer, 22, of the 300 block of Fordham Avenue, Aurora, was arrested at 4:26 p.m. in the 10200 block of Galena Road, Bristol, on a warrant out of LaSalle County for a traffic offense and charged with the unlawful possession of cannabis after he was stopped for speeding 69mph in a 55 mph speed zone, said the Sheriff’s office.

Criminal damage to property

Sheriff’s deputies took a report for criminal damage to property that occurred at 6:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Boulder Hill Pass. An unknown subject(s) threw a type of firework into a recycling bin and caused damage.

Wednesday, Aug. 28

No valid driver’s license

  • Mireya Sanchez, of the 0-99 block of Afton Drive, Montgomery, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. in the 9100 block of Route 30 and charged for driving without a valid driver’s license, said the Sheriff’s office.
  • Maria Cruz-Lopez, 33, of Aurora, was arrested at 11:54 p.m. at Route 30 and Heggs Road and charged for driving without a valid driver’s license after she was stopped for an equipment violation, said the Sheriff’s office.

Warrant

John Anthony Potocki, 53, of the 0-40 block of Timber View Lane, Yorkville, was arrested at 6:10 a.m. at his residence on a warrant out of Kendall County for obstructing a civil process, said the Sheriff’s office.

Tuesday, Aug. 27

Theft

Sheriff’s deputies took a report for a theft that occurred on Aug. 24 at Caterpillar Tractor Co. The victim reported that a computer was stolen from a work desk.

Warrant

  • David Patrick Benefiel, 23, of the 1600 block of Light Road, Oswego, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. at his residence on an in state warrant out of the Aurora Police Department for driving on a suspended license, said the Sheriff’s office.
  • Jacob A. Hayes, 22, of the 0-10 block of Woodcliff Drive, Montgomery, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. at Violet Patch Park, 1600 block of Route 25, Oswego, on a warrant out of Kane County for failure to appear for driving under the influence of drugs, said the Sheriff’s office.

Burglary from a motor vehicle

Deputies are investigating a reported burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred at 6 p.m. in the 0-99 block of Bristol Ridge Road, Bristol. Several items were removed from the victim’s vehicle without consent.

Monday, Aug. 26

Warrant

David James Stotler, 54, of the 500 block of Powers, Yorkville, was arrested at 2:35 a.m. in the 500 block of Powers Court on a failure to appear warrant for battery, said the Sheriff’s office.

Harassment by electronic means

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report for harassment by electronic means that occurred at 4:01 a.m. in the 0-99 block of Eastfield Road, Oswego. The victim reported receiving unwanted emails and packages from an ex-boyfriend. Contact was made with the ex-boyfriend who was advised to stop contacting the victim. No charges were filed.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Troy Christopher Schwerin, 19, of the 200 block of Fox Chase Drive North, Oswego, was arrested at 11:10 p.m. at Route 34 and Orchard Road and charged with the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped for driving with only one red taillight, said the Sheriff’s office.

Identity theft

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a reported identity theft that occurred within the past three years. A credit card was opened without the complaint’s knowledge.

Sunday, Aug. 25

Domestic battery

  • David Ricardo Chavez, 29, of the 100 block of East Rickard Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery, said the Sheriff’s office. Deputies went to the residence for a report of a disturbance and found that the altercation had occurred earlier, 8:30 p.m., when Chavez had poked and pushed someone at his residence.
  • Bradley William Phillips, 49, of the 100 block East Rickard Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 10:51 p.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery after he reportedly tackled another male at the residence, said the Sheriff’s office.
