Child Hit by SUV Near Thompson Junior High

The child was biking in the crosswalk when the incident occurred.

Update, 9:40 a.m.

A male juvenile, 11, was transported to Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora after being struck by an SUV Friday morning, according to Oswego police.

An SUV traveling southbound struck the child in the 400 block of Boulder Hill Pass by Thompson Junior High. The boy was biking in the crosswalk heading west.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:26 a.m.

The 31-year-old driver of the SUV reported no injuries and the child was transported to Rush Copley with non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Oswego Police Department. 

8:40 a.m.

A child was hit by a car Friday morning outside Thompson Junior High School.

Oswego Police Captain Jeff Burgner confirmed that a car struck a kid riding a bike at the crosswalk south of Thompson on Boulder Hill Pass.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m.

Burgner said the kid was transported to a hospital, with what did not appear to be life-threatening injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation.
