Last Day to 'Fill the Boot' in Oswego

All proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Today is the last chance to help 'Fill the Boot' — the annual campaign to fundraise for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Lt. Travis Martinez said the goal for the OFPD this year was to raise $15,000 for the MDA.

After two Fridays of collections, he said the current total raised thus far is $11,100.

"This community is awesome when it comes to fundraising." he said.

He wanted to give special thanks to the for for counting all of the money at their Boulder Hill Pass branch.

"It is quite a feat to recount all the money plus on average of $1,300 in loose change," Martinez said.

The officers will be out from 3  to 6 p.m. Friday at the following intersections:

  • Douglas and Route 30
  • Route 34 and Orchard
  • Route 71 and Washington/Plainfield
  • Wolf and Route 30
