Fire in Vacant Oswego Apartment Building Under Investigation

Firefighters responded to a blaze on Harbor Drive late Monday morning.

Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire in the attic of a vacant apartment building in Oswego.

Oswego Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Jeff Warren said firefighters were dispatched to a fire at 101 Harbor Drive shortly before noon on Monday.

Warren said the fire was contained to the attic above an upstairs apartment in the four-unit building. He estimated the damage at $15,000 to $20,000.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get the blaze under control, according to Warren.

Warren said he could not give details on the cause of the fire, saying it was still under investigation.
