Blaze Sends Firefighter to Hospital

Saturday afternoon blaze put out in 25 minutes.

A fire in the 2800 block of Arbor Lane in Oswego Saturday afternoon sent one firefighter to Rush-Copley Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to Josh Flanders, battalion chief with the .

Fire crews were called to the home at 4:07 p.m. by a neighbor for a report of the back of the home on fire.

When they arrived firefighters found the home’s back porch in flames, Flanders said.

The fire was out within 25 minutes and was contained to the home’s porch, siding, roof and two bedrooms.

All residents had exited the home before firefighters arrived, Flanders said.

A damage estimate or cause of the blaze was not immediately available. Fire crews from Aurora, Bristol-Kendall, Montgomery and Plainfield assisted in extinguishing the fire.
