Firefighter Treated After Oswego Blaze

Crews from Oswego, Bristol-Kendall, Montgomery and Plainfield helped fight blaze on Route 31.

One firefighter was transported to Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora following a fire in Oswego Thursday, officials said.

Battalion Chief Dan Schiradelly said firefighters responded to a blaze on the second story of a wood frame home in the 14000 block of Route 31 at around 4:47 p.m.

By around 5:12 p.m., crews were able to get the fire under control, he said. The Oswego Fire Protection District was assisted by the Bristol-Kendall Fire Department, Montgomery Fire Department and Plainfield Fire Department.

Schiradelly said one firefighter was transported to the hospital and treated for signs of heat exhaustion. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
