Free Easter Baskets for Needy Families Available at Fire Station

Baskets will be given out on first-come, first serve basis.

When the Kendall County Food Pantry had about 150 left-over Easter baskets intended for families in need, they knew just who to call to get them distributed.

The picked up the baskets recenlty and will give them away to local needy families through 5 p.m. Friday.

“They knew we had a history with Toys for Tots and could make the connection to those families who might need these baskets this Easter,” said Lt. John Cornish.

The baskets range in appropriateness for children ages infant to teenager. Baskets for infants includes onesies and other baby items. The baskets for teens included candy older kids would like, Cornish said. Other baskets include candy and small toys and games.

"There are some really nice things here," Cornish said.
