House Fire Sends Resident to Hospital

Firefighters rescue family dog from home in unincorporated Kendall County near Oswego.

crews contained a house fire in the 100 block of Dolores Street in about 10 minutes Tuesday night and rescued the family dog along the way.

According to a district news release, the fire started in the lower level of the bi-level home at about 8:10 p.m., and the residents of the home had escaped the blaze before fire crews arrived.

Firefighters rescued the dog from the home and he was uninjured, according to the release.

One resident was taken Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora by Fire Protection District paramedics.

The fire is being investigated by the Office of the State Fire Marshal and Kendall County Sheriff's Office, but a cause and damage estimate have yet to be determined. A news release from the Sheriff's Office called the damage to the home "major."
