Illinois House Resolution Recognizes Baird As 'Police Chief of the Year'

Oswego Police Chief Dwight Baird will be officially honored by the Illinois State Crime Commission in June.

On Friday, Feb. 28, Oswego Police Chief Chief Baird was presented a copy of a resolution passed by the Illinois House of Representatives which is honoring him for being named the 2014 Police Chief of the Year by the Illinois State Crime Commission. Presenting the copy of the resolution was Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis and Oswego Village President Brian LeClercq. 

State Representative Tom Cross (R-Oswego) was the chief sponsor of this resolution with State Representative Kay Hatcher (R-Yorkville) and State Representative John Anthony (R-Plainfield) supporting as co-chief sponsors.  

The resolution was sought after Chief Baird was chosen for the award.

Baird will be honored at a special event, “Salute to Those Who Make a Difference”, held by the Illinois State Crime Commission in June.
