Kendall County Fair Starts July 31
Fair lasts through Aug. 3 at Kendall County Fairground in Yorkville.
Kendall County Sheriff's police are reminding residents to be prepared for heavy traffic and road closings during the Kendall County Fair, which begins July 31 and ends Aug. 3.
Starting at 6 a.m. July 31 until 7 p.m. Aug. 3, Highpoint Road in Kendall Township between Illinois State Route 71 and Legion Road, will have a temporary traffic flow change to facilitate expected heavy traffic congestion and safety concerns due to attendance expected at the annual Kendall County Fair, police said.
The event is held at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, 10826 Route 71 in Yorkville, one mile west of the intersection of Routes 47 and 71. Fair hours are 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

"At approximately 06.00 a.m. on July 31st, a temporary traffic plan will be implemented during the time the Fair is in operation. ALL FAIR TRAFFIC will be detoured to Legion Road and enter the Fairgrounds off Highpoint Road. Any traffic traveling Southbound on Routes 71 and 47 will be detoured south to Legion Road, west to Highpoint road, north to the fairgrounds. All northbound traffic on Route 47 will turn west on Legion Road and enter the fairgrounds in the same manner. All northbound traffic on Route 71 will be detoured to turn east on Legion Road then north on Highpoint to the fairgrounds. NO TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER HIGHPOINT ROAD FROM ROUTE 71 while the fair is in operation. Highpoint road at Route 71 will be exit only.
Signage will be posted and Sheriff’s Deputies will be in the area. Please be prepared to stop for traffic in all direction."
