Kendall County Sex Offender Charged with Violation of Registration

John Nemec, 45, gave a false address in Oswego, but was found to have never lived in the area.

After receiving information about a violation of the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act, Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Detectives began an investigation into John Nemec, a 45 year old man from California.

Nemec was convicted in 2001 of Annoying or Molesting a Child Under 18 years of age in Fresno County, California, and again in 2013 for Failure to Register as a Sexual Offender in Kendall County.

Nemec, required to register every ninety days, had allegedly provided Sheriff’s Detectives with a false address in the 100 Block of Harbor Dr, Oswego.

On November 26, Kendall County Sheriff’s Detectives secured charges against Nemec for Failure to Register as a Sexual Offender, a Class 2 felony.  Bond was set at $20,000, with 10 percent to apply.
