Lightning Strike Damages Home: Oswego Fire Department
Lightning caused an attic fore on Saugatuck Road.
Lightning sparked an attic fire at an unincorporated Montgomery home, causing an estimated $9,000 to $10,000 in damage, according to the Oswego Fire Protection District.
Oswego firefighters responded to the blaze at around 6:10 p.m., sending three engines, a ladder truck and two ambulances to the scene on Saugatuck Road between Amesbury and Wembly, according to a press release issued by the fire department.
Crews got the fire under control within six to seven minutes, according to fire officials.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
Assisting Oswego with a change of quarters was Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District, which provided an engine, and Plainfield Fire Protection District, with an ambulance, officials said.
