Man Charged with DUI in Route 34 Crash

Accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.

A crash late Sunday night resulted in one driver being charged with a DUI, according to Oswego police.

The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Route 34 and Prairie Market. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, which ended with the vehicles in the grass alongside Route 34.

Denard Y. Miller, 40, of the 100 block of Gregory Street, Aurora, was arrested at 2 a.m. on Dec. 10 and  charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed for crash, said Oswego police.

Miller was also cited for the possession of open containers of alcohol in the vehicle and for driving on a suspended license.

Miller was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center with reported injuries. The other driver did not report any injuries.

Miller’s court date is set for Jan. 22.
