Jubari T. Tuggles, 22, was sentenced to 10 years for his role in an armed robbery incident and residential burglaries that occurred in 2011.

Tuggles and his accomplices wore ski masks and threatened an employee with a baseball bat and pellet gun. They smashed the register with the baseball bat and removed cash and also took Illinois Lottery scratch-off tickets.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s office investigated the robbery incident and later assisted the Oswego Police Department with the execution of a search warrant at Tuggles’ home as a result of Tuggles’ involvement in string of residential burglaries from the Churchill subdivision in Oswego.

During the search, scratch-off lottery tickets matching those taken from the Oswego Food Mart were located and Tuggles later admitted to commiting the robbery and identified himself as the individual who went behind the counter during the robbery and took the lottery tickets.

The search warrant also uncovered items taken from homes in May and June of 2011. Tuggles and his accomplices entered the homes and took televisions, camera, wallets, money, credit cards and computers and pawned them off to area shops. They were apprehended after using a victim’s credit card to order starter pistols and shoes via the internet.

The United States Post Office assisted local law enforcement by delivering the package to Tuggles after Tuggles told the Postal Inspector he was the victim’s grandson and signed for the package with a false name. Tuggles confessed to entering homes and possession the stolen items and for forgery in signing the postal delivery receipt under a false name.

Tuggles will serve 2 years of mandatory supervised release after he serves his 10-year prison sentence.
