Man Charged in Oswego Forgery

Mark Jackson of Aurora was charged with forgery after allegedly obtaining and attempting to cash someone else's check in Oswego. He is currently behind bars facing DUI charges as well.

An Aurora man has been charged with forgery after allegedly intercepting and trying to cash someone else’s check in Oswego, police said.

Mark Jackson, 35, of the 800 block of Douglas Road in Aurora, is accused of obtaining a check mailed by someone unknown to him, said, and then altering and attempting to cash that check at an Oswego currency exchange on Douglas Road in February.

The victim was alerted to the attempt and contacted police, who launched an investigation. Jackson was charged with forgery, a Class 3 felony. But no warrant for his arrest was issued, since he’s already behind bars at the Kendall County Jail, police said.

In February, Jackson was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and driving on a suspended license, according to Kendall County court records. His next court date on those charges, as well as the forgery charge, is June 26.
