Man Sentenced in Oswego Burglary

Donald Cusic of Aurora was sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in an April burglary at an Oswego store.

An Aurora man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for an Oswego burglary earlier this year, Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis said Friday.

Donald Cusic, 40, of the 500 block of Hammond Avenue in Aurora, pleaded guilty to robbing an Oswego business and agreed to the seven-year sentence, Weis said. He was charged on April 30 after found him at the scene of the crime, Weis said.

Police responded to an Oswego business after being notified that the owner had seen two suspects on the property after the burglar alarm had been activated. During the investigation, Cusic admitted to his role in the burglary, saying he needed the money, Weis said.

Cusic told police he and his accomplice had brought gloves, bolt cutters and a crowbar to break into multiple buildings, Weis said.

Cusic will serve two years of mandatory supervised release before he can be freed from custody, according to Weis.
