Kendall County Sheriff's police are asking for the public's help locating a 19-year-old Montgomery man wanted in connection with a May 14 burglary, police said Thursday.

Police said a warrant was issued June 14 for the arrest of Michael Luis Chavez on charges of theft, criminal trespassing to a residence and violation of bail bond.

According to the sheriff's department, deputies responded May 14 to the 70 block of Circle Drive East in unincorporated Montgomery for a report of theft. Police said cash and jewelry were stolen from the home.

A warrant was issued for Chavez, who used to live at the residence, following an investigation by deputies, police said.

So far, police have not been able to locate Chavez. The sheriff's department is asking for the public's help tracking down Chavez, described as a Hispanic male about  5'9" tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Section at (630) 466-7017. Callers can also contact Crimestoppers at (630) 553-5999. Callers can remain anonymous, and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 if information is received that leads to the arrest of the offender.
