Montgomery Man Arrested After Wielding Pickaxe: Police

Robert Plum accused of domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

A 49-year-old unincorporated Montgomery man was charged with domestic battery after allegedly threatening people in his home with a pickaxe, Kendall County Sheriff's police said.

Deputies responded to the 0-99 block of Fernwood Road at around 10:24 p.m. Sunday for a report that Robert Plum Jr. was threatening residents with a pickaxe, according to police.

"It was discovered that during the call for assistance to the police, the victim was battered and the call was interrupted," police said.

Plum was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery, as well as interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, according to police.
