Montgomery Man Hospitalized After Slamming Semi

Incident happened early Monday morning at Route 30 and Fifth Street.

A Montgomery man was charged with a DUI after his vehicle hit a semi-truck at 4:06 a.m. on Monday, March 25, said Oswego Police.

Gustavo A. Rojas Jr., 27, of the 2400 block of Columbia Lane, Montgomery, was traveling west on Route 30 when he crossed over the center lane, said Oswego Police Captain Jeff Burgner. His vehicle struck the back end of a semi-truck traveling east on Route 30 and his vehicle left the road.

Rojas was reported injured, said Burgner, and was transported to Rush Copley Medical Center. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

Rojas was charged with driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, the illegal transportation of alcohol, having no insurance, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

He has posted a recognized bond in light of his injuries and is currently at Rush Copley, said Burgner.
