OHS Student Pulls Fire Alarm, Charged with Disorderly Conduct: Police

Wednesday, Oct. 23

Burglary to motor vehicle

  • Oswego police took a report for a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred at an unknown date and time in the 300 block of Northampton Drive. A camera and flashlight valued together at $110 were removed from the vehicle without the owner’s permission.
  • Oswego police took a report for burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred at an unknown date and time in the 0-99 block of Elmwood Drive. A purse was stolen from a vehicle after an offender(s) broke the passenger side window.

Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Disorderly conduct

A male juvenile, 14, was charged with disorderly conduct at 9:13 a.m. at Oswego High School after he pulled the fire alarm, said Oswego police.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Taylor S. Strzempa, 18, of the 600 block of Lincoln Station Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 8:20 p.m. at Route 34 and Fifth Street and charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia, said Oswego police.

Criminal damage to property

Oswego police took a report for criminal damage to property that occurred at an unknown time in the 0-99 block of Templeton. A brick was thrown through a window resulting in $200 worth of damage.

Oswego police took a report for criminal damage to property after a window was damaged at an unknown date and time in the 100 block of Waterbury Circle. Damage is estimated at $200.

Felony retail theft

Lenise K. McClendon, 21, of the 2700 block of Preston court, Aurora, was arrested at 4:05 p.m. in the 2300 block of Route 34 and charged with felony retail theft, said Oswego police. McClendon attempted to steal $940.94 worth of miscellaneous merchandise from a business in the 2300 block of Route 34 and was detained by loss prevention in the parking lot. The merchandise was recovered.

Monday, Oct. 21

Warrant

Isaiah C. Harris, 33, of the 1900 block of Hitchcock Drive, Downers Grove, was arrested at 3:57 p.m. in the 3500 block of Route 34 on two warrants, one out of Kendall County and one out o DuPage County, said Oswego police.

Burglary to motor vehicle

Oswego police are investigating a reported burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred at an unknown time and date in the 400 block of Sudbury Circle. $2,800 was the reported loss.

Sunday, Oct. 20

No valid driver’s license

A male juvenile, 16, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. at Mill Road and Fox Chase Drive and charged for driving without a valid driver’s license and curfew violation, said Oswego police.

Harassing text messages

Oswego police took a report for harassing text messages that the victim received from the father of her child. The incident is under investigation.

Saturday, Oct. 19

Debit card used fraudulently

Oswego police took a report for the fraudulent use of a credit cad that occurred at an unknown time at the Shell Gas Station, 100 block of Douglas Road, Oswego. The victim reported her card had been used at the gas station without permission for under $500.

Domestic battery

Oswego police are investigating a domestic battery that occurred at 11:09 a.m. in the 200 block of Parkside Lane.

Friday, Oct. 18

No valid driver’s license

Fernando G. Calderon, 37, of the 1700 block of North Marywood Avenue, Aurora, was arrested at 10:24 a.m. at Southbury and Litchfield and charged for driving without a valid license and speeding, said Oswego police.

Denzell Washington, 16, of Aurora, was arrested at 2:45 p.m. at Boulder Hill Pass and charged for driving without a valid driver’s license, said Oswego police.

Fraudulent credit card use

Oswego police took a report of fraudulent credit cart usage that occurred on Sept. 16 at the Oswego Officemax and Home Depot. An unknown male used the card to make purchases in excess of $1,500.

Warrant

Alexander O. Keith, of the 700 block of Serendipity Lane, Aurora, was arrested at 9:04 p.m. in the 2300 block of Route 34 on a warrant, said Oswego police.

Property damage

Oswego police took a report for property damage that occurred at approximately 5:15 a.m. at Blue Ridge and Essex. A vehicle traveling east on Blue Ridge struck a fire hydrant. Damages are estimated at more than $500.

Unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor

A male juvenile was charged with the unlawful consumption of alcohol at 9:17 p.m. in the 0-99 block of Stonehill. He was released to a parent.

Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia

Darryl B. Stewart, 19, of the 1000 block of Timberlake, Aurora, was arrested at 10:59 p.m. at Devoe and Townsend and charged with the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, said Oswego police.

Residential burglary

Oswego police took a report for a residential burglary that occurred between 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 18 in the 500 block of Saratoga Court. $1,500 worth of items were reported taken from a vehicle parked in the garage.

Thursday, Oct. 17

Hit and run

Oswego police took a report for a hit and run accident that occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 at Douglas Street and Route 71. The victim reported his vehicle was rear-ended and the offending vehicle then left the scene without reporting the damage.

Theft

Oswego police took a report for theft of a Samsung Galaxy cellphone that occurred at Oswego High School. The phone, valued at $400, was taken from a gym locker.
