Oswego police took a report for a theft that occurred between 11 p.m. on Sept. 22 and 9 a.m. on Sept. 23 in the 500 block of Creekside Court. The victim left their garage door open overnight and two saws, two fishing rods/reels and a gas can all valued at $225 were stolen.

Oswego police responded to a car accident that occurred at 5:40 p.m. at Route 34 and Heritage. Unit 1 was traveling west on Route 34 and rear-ended unit 2, which was topped at a stoplight. The driver of unit 1 said they were blinded by the sunlight. No one was reported injured in the crash.

Yorkville police are investigating a burglary to a motor vehicle report in which $5,000 worth of hearing aids that were stolen from a parked vehicle at 5:06 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the 0-99 block of West Veteran’s Parkway.
That screen door was (fortunately) tougher than it looked
Yorkville police took a report of criminal damage to property that occurred at 4 p.m. in the 400 block of Landmark Avenue on Sept. 22. The property owner was inside the home and had the front door open but the screen door locked. An unknown offender tried to gain access to the home by cutting the screen on the door, but was unable to unlock the door. No entrance was made to the house and damage is estimated at $20.

Leovardo Lemos, 32, of the 900 block of Ridgeway, Aurora, was arrested at 7:10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Orchard Road for retail theft after store officials observed him place a tent over his shoulder, valued at $194 and leave the store without paying, said Montgomery police.
Looked like a good place to park
Rickie James Benuska, 59, of the 3300 block of Somonauk Road, Sandwich, was arrested on Sept. 14 at 11:31 p.m. at River Road east of Eldamain, Bristol, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, said the Sheriff’s office. Deputies had gone to the location for a report of a motor vehicle accident, and found that Benuska had simply stopped his vehicle on the roadway: no crash took place. He was also cited for improper parking on the roadway.
