Oswego Blotter: Teen Scammed in Fake Car Deal; Man Charged with Assaulting Officer

Feb. 23

Someone took clothing items from Kohll's, 2500 Route 34, and ran from the store without paying, Oswego police said.

Feb. 22

An unidentified suspect stole two bottles of alcohol from Meijer, 2700 Route 34, according to Oswego police.

Kendall County Sheriff's Police responded to a fraud case in the 0-100 block of Marnel Road, Montgomery. According to police, the 17-year-old victim attempted to purchase a used vehicle online from a suspect in Nebraska. Police said the suspect collected more than $4,000 in money grams, but the victim did not receive the vehicle. The incident is under investigation, police said.

Feb. 21

Randy W. Henning, 38, of the 0-100 block of Dolphin Court, Oswego, was arrested and charged with domestic battery and aggravated assault, according to police. Henning is accused of battering a family member before assaulting a deputy who was investigating the case, police said.

Feb. 19

Someone stole an undisclosed amount of alcohol from Meijer, 2700 Route 34, according to Oswego police.
