Oswego Man Sentenced to Eight Years for Heroin Delivery
James P. Vartiak, 24, was sentenced for an incident that occurred in June of this year.
An Oswego man has been sentenced to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for heroin delivery, according to Kendall County State’s Attorney, Eric Weis.
James P. Vartiak, 24, of the 0-99 block of Chippewa, Oswego, was arrested in June of 2013 on an outstanding warrant.
At the time of the arrest, he was found to be in possession of several small bags of heroin. He was charged with the unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

“Their work continues to send a message that selling heroin in Kendall County will not be tolerated, and will hopefully act as a deterrent to others who would contemplate committing the same offense,” said Weis of the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team.
Vartiak, who turns 25 next month, will be required to serve two years of mandatory supervised release after his eight year prison sentence.

According to Kendall County court records, Vartiak has also been found guilty of the possession of cannabis, retail theft and other charges.
