Weapons Found in 13-Year-Old's Locker: Police

Wednesday, March 13

Retail theft

Daniel L. Miller, 32, of the 900 block of Sard Avenue, Aurora and Pashalis P. Mitriois, 37, of the 100 block of Cross Street, Aurora, were arrested at 6:10 a.m. for an incident that occurred at 8:30 p.m. on March 12 in the 2300 block of Route 34. Miller was charged with two counts of retail theft and Mitriois was charged with retail theft, said Oswego police.

No valid driver’s license

Isidro G. Cabera, 36, of the 800 block of South Summer, Aurora, was arrested at 2:40 a.m. at Treasure and Ogden Falls and charged for driving without a valid  license, said Oswego police.

Carissa M. Carrizelo, 18, of the 700 block of Downes, Aurora, and Silverio F. Mayen, 18, of the 300 block of South Harrison, Aurora, were arrested at 11:54 p.m. at Route 30 and Season’s Ridge and charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia, said Oswego police.

Tuesday, March 12

Unlawful usage of weapon, unauthorized storage of weapons

A male juvenile, 13, was arrested at 3:25 p.m. at Thompson Junior High in the 400 block of Boulder Hill Pass and charged with the unlawful use of a weapon and the unauthorized storage of a weapon, said Oswego police. The school received information that there may be something in the student's locker and had police performed a search, said Oswego police Captain Jeff Burgner. The weapons found included Chinese throwing stars, brass knuckles and a fold-up knife, said Burgner. No threats were made in the incident. 

Monday, March 11

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Timothy DeMichele, 40, of the 20900 block of Barrington Lane, Plainfield, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. at Routes 30 and 34 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, said Oswego police.

Warrant

Sonny Ristick, 20, of the 100 block of Pine Ridge Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. at the Oswego Police Department and charged with an outstanding warrant, said Oswego police.

Mia Chvon Evans, 34, of the 200 block of Adams Street, Oswego, was arrested at 3:12 p.m. at Lombardy Lane and Northampton Drive and charged with an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license, said Oswego police.

Theft

  • Oswego police took a report for a theft that occurred at 5:15 p.m. in the 2400 block of Route 34.
  • Oswego police responded to a reported theft that occurred on March 7 at Oswego East High School. A student reported leaving their phone in a classroom and it was taken without their permission.

Sunday, March 10

Dog bite

Oswego police are investigating a reported dog bite incident that occurred at 4:30 p.m. on March 10 in the 500 block of Heritage Drive. A dog bit another dog, and the dog that was bit required surgery that cost $750.

Retail theft

Paul D. Gottberg, of the 1500 block of Pine Street, Ottawa, was arrested at 12:40 a.m. at the Walmart in the 2300 block of Route 34 and charged with retail theft over $300, said Oswego police.

No valid driver’s license

Tina M. Bolsen, 48, of the 400 block of North River Street, Aurora, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. at Hill and Goodwin and charged driving without a valid license, said Oswego police. She was also charged driving with expired registration and no insurance.

Saturday, March 9

Theft

Oswego police are investigating a reported theft from a residence in the 300 block of Persimmon that occurred sometime between March 4 and March 6. The item stolen was reportedly had a value of less than $500.

Retail theft

Tinard D. Thompson, 20, of the 1200 block of Second Avenue, Aurora, was arrested at 8:30 a.m. at the Oswego Walmart in the 2300 block of Route 34 and charged with retail theft under $300, said Oswego police.

No valid driver’s license

A male juvenile, 17, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. at Route 71 and Calumet and charged with driving without a valid license, said Oswego police.

Criminal damage to property

Oswego police responded to a reported criminal damage to property that occurred at an 11 a.m.  at the Great Lakes Car Wash in the 1200 block of Douglas. It was reported that someone had damaged three spray nozzles, with damages estimated at $45.

Friday March 8

Deceptive practice, retail theft

Ronald P. Miller, 48 of the 0-99 block of Durango Road, Montgomery, was charged with deceptive practice for an incident that occurred on Jan. 27 in the 0-99 block of Chicago Road. Miller passed two checks in which money was not in the account o pay for the items purchased. A warrant was issued for his arrest and bond set at $2,500. He is also charged with retail theft for reportedly stealing fuel from the 4000 block of Route 34 on Jan. 22. A separate warrant was issued for that incident and bound set at  $2,500.

No valid driver’s license

Laura C. Chavira-Lopez, 37, of the 1000 block of the Auduron Lane, Aurora, was arrested at 2 p.m. at Douglas Road and Route 30 and charged for driving without a valid license, said Oswego police.

Thursday, March 7

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Christoper Nash, 37, of the 300 block of South Madison, Oswego, was arrested at 7:25 p.m. at Route 30 and Goodwin and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, said Oswego police.

Criminal damage to property

Oswego police responded to a reported criminal damage to property that occurred at an unknown time at the Great Lakes Car Wash in the 1200 block of Douglas. It was reported that someone had damaged the car wash.

No valid driver’s license

OlgaTavizon-Portillo, 33, of the 400 block of Bluegrass Parkway, Oswego, was arrested at 1:50 p.m. in the 400 block of Bluegrass Parkway and charged with driving without a license and speeding, said Oswego police.

Battery

Oswego police investigated a reported battery that occurred at 10:05 p.m. in the 1500 block of Douglas Road.

Wednesday, March 6

Criminal damage to property

Oswego police are investigating a reported criminal damage to property that occurred at 2 p.m. at a store in the 2700 block of Route 34. A suspect is in custody and charges are pending with the State’s Attorney’s Office.

No valid driver’s license

Hugo Hernandez, 41, of the 100 block of East Cass Street, Joliet, was arrested at 11:10 p.m. at Route 30 and Wolf Road and charged for driving without a valid license, said Oswego police.
