Oswego Police Charge 18 Individuals With Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol

Two separate incidents result in 18 arrests

A total of 18 individuals were charged with underage drinking and arrested for the unlawful consumption of alcohol in two seperate incidents, according to the .

In the first report, Louis Yarbrough, 19, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. at Stonegate Park, off Route 25 near downtown, on Aug. 9.

A second report at 12:30 a.m. Aug. 10 resulted in 17 individuals being charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol.

According to police, witnesses stated people were running through yards and in the street of the 200 block of Ashcroft Lane. Police were able to identify a residence on Ashcroft Lane, where it was determined a 19-year-old female had thrown a party while her parents were out of town.

Police received permission to enter the home to continue investigation and secure the property.

  • Kendall Collier, 18, Oswego
  • Jerry Carter, 20, Aurora
  • James Brown, 18, Aurora
  • Omar Fernandez, 19, Aurora
  • John Garza, 19, Aurora
  • Daniel Garcia­ Aguado, 19, Montgomery

All subjects were charged with a Class-A misdemeanor, processed at the Oswego Law Enforcement Center and released to a responsible adult.

Oswego Police are encouraging parents to communicate the potential dangers alcohol has on young adults, as well as the possible consequences.
