Oswego Police Conducting Traffic Enforcement for Prom

The traffic enforcement will take place on the evenings of both Oswego proms; May 4 for OHS and May 11 for OEHS.

The following is from a release issued by the Oswego Police Department:

The Oswego Police Department will be conducting traffic enforcement saturation patrols for the Oswego East High School and Oswego High School prom events being held on May 4th and 11th. These patrols will focus on safe driving practices as well as alcohol and drug related offenses.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 10,000 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes in 2010 – one every 51 minutes.

The Oswego Police Department is committed to doing our part to ensure that our youth can enjoy their prom activities in a safe manner. We encourage parents to do the same by warning of the dangers of alcohol and drug use.

The Oswego Police Department wants to remind everyone that if they observe a driver they believe to be impaired, please contact the Kendall County Communications Dispatch Center at 630-554-3426 or dial 911.
