Oswego Police Issue Multiple Citations During “Click it or Ticket” Enforcement

The enforcement period ran from Dec. 20, 2013 to Jan. 5, 2014 for the winter holidays.

From Dec. 20, 2013 to Jan. 4, 2014, IDOT supported enforcement to remind motorists to buckle up and not drive impaired both day and night during the merged “Click it or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” mobilizations.

The Oswego Police Department joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway fatalities by cracking down on unbuckled motorists and impaired drivers.

During the mobilization, the Oswego Police Department issued:

  • 32 seat belt citations
  • 1 uninsured motorist
  • 1 speeding citation

The annual “Click it or Ticket” may be over in Oswego, but that is no excuse to stop using your seat belt.

“Our officers are out all year long. If you or your passengers are caught not wearing a seat belt you will be cited for the safety violation, said Oswego Police Captain Jeff Burgner.
